Verifying the education credentials of your candidate can help you identify they have the proper skill set for the position, as well as ensure they have provided an accurate depiction of their credentials on their application and/or resume.
At a minimum, Ascertain recommends verifying the highest form of education completed. We verify the degree or diploma awarded and the date it was awarded (if applicable), as well as enrollment dates. If a degree or diploma has not been awarded, then we confirm the enrollment period and the major/field of study.
For those candidates who have been a full-time student, enrollment dates can be verified with each institution attended within a period deemed relevant by our client. This includes applicants who have attended high school within the stipulated time period.
Applicants receiving GEDs are verified through the respective state where the GED was awarded. Many states require a special process for verification and this can be coordinated by Ascertain at no additional charge.
If the location of the institution has not been provided by the applicant, Ascertain will do the research to locate the institution. In some cases, we may need to contact the applicant to identify the location of the institution they attended.
